My Malamutes at Work

First, I would like to make a note about how my breeding and working program works. I have seen two main types of breeding programs. One type focuses strictly on gentle temperaments for great family companions. The other focuses on the amazing working potential of the Alaskan Malamute. Please note, there is NOTHING wrong with either of these, and I am NOT speaking against either. What I strive to do is bring Malamutes back to their origins. History shows that Malamutes were used for work, hunting, and looking after children. Malamutes bred specifically for their gentle temperaments tend to lack the high working drive, and malamutes bred for the high working drive seem to be a little more "stand-offish" (I have experienced both in my program) - Again, nothing wrong with either, it simply depends on what you want.

My goal is to breed Malamutes that have the best of both - the high working drive and incredibly gentle nature. My malamutes are always eager to work when asked, but also very family oriented and love to snuggle. They also maintain their large size, broad chests, big heads, and heavy bone.
